This Ohio History Connection facility managed by the John and Annie Glenn Museum Foundation tells the story of the building of the National Road and the settlement of America’s Midwest. The museum also features exhibits on author Zane Grey, “Father of the American Western,” as well as a beautiful collection of Zanesville Art Pottery. Guided tours. Buses welcome.
The Warren riveted pony truss bridge at the National Road/Zane Grey Museum was built in 1909 by the Mount Vernon Bridge Company over Salt Creek on Wheeling Road. It was moved to the Museum grounds in 2000. The bridge was refurbished with new paint and planking in 2013. It has become a well visited aspect of the National Road/Zane Grey Museum.
