Tourism Development Grant

Purpose

The Tourism Development Grant is offered through the Zanesville Muskingum County Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) to enhance the economic impact of tourism in our community. The grant program assists non-profit, for-profit, and municipal organizations with marketing, promotion and event attraction that increase visitors to Muskingum County, enhance their experience and may result in overnight stays or visitor returns.

Procedure

  • Two rounds of funding will be held each calendar Regardless of grant funding approval history, applications must be submitted each year.
  • Zanesville Muskingum County CVB administers the grant program, which is funded through a portion of the lodging tax, under contract with the Muskingum County Commissioners.
  • The Zanesville Muskingum County CVB has $15,000 budgeted for the Tourism Development Grant in $7,500 in grants will be awarded in Round One. Any funds not used in Round One may be carried over to Round Two. The maximum amount awarded per grant is $1,500.
  • Any grant recipient must complete a post event report and meet all criteria to be eligible for any funding in 2027.
  • Applications are reviewed by the Tourism Development Grant.
  • Further follow-up with grant applicants may be necessary, as the committee moves through the review and approval phase.

Round One Important Dates

  • October 1, 2025 | Applications for the Tourism Development Grant: Round One Opens
  • November 30, 2025 | Applications for the Tourism Development Grant must be submitted by 11:59PM: Round One Closes
  • Awards will be announced by January 31, 2026 for Round One

Round Two Important Dates

  • April 1, 2026 | Applications for the Tourism Development Grant: Round Two Opens
  • May 31, 2026 | Applications for the Tourism Development Grant must be submitted by 11:59PM: Round Two Closes
  • Awards will be announced by July 31, 2026 for Round Two

Print Marketing Program

The purpose of the Muskingum County Print Marketing Program is to provide funding to non-profit, for-profit, municipal organizations and special events in the Zanesville and Muskingum County area for event promotion and increase in visitors to Muskingum County. This grant is offered by the Zanesville-Muskingum County Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB).

Eligibility

Non-profit and for-profit organizations, businesses, attractions, and special events are eligible to apply. Non-profits may be asked to provide proof of a 501C designation; a copy of the incorporation agreement must be made available upon request.

Application & Grant Distribution

Applications for the 2026 Print Marketing Program will be available December 1, 2025. Funds will be awarded until November 1, 2026, or the budgeted amount has been exhausted. Any budgeted funds not distributed will not roll over into the next Program Year.

Each grant application will be considered on its own merits. The final determination of grant awards is solely at the discretion of Zanesville-Muskingum County CVB.

The Zanesville-Muskingum County CVB reserves the right to change or amend this program without notice.
