Zanesville-Muskingum County is filled with unique opportunities for groups and conveniently located on I-70 just east of Columbus.

Day One

Visit McDonald's Greenhouse and learn about the history of the farm as you take in the lay of the land. Spring/Summer Activities: See a demonstration of how seeds are mechanically planted, grow into "plugs" and then are transplanted into beautiful annuals and hanging baskets. Also create a Make It Take It basket of spring pansies or flowers based on the season. Enjoy light refreshments while you browse the greenhouses and ask the grower one-on-one questions. Fall Activities: Take a brief walk through a corner of the corn maze (called the Granny Path), go on a hay wagon ride, see the baby farm animals and talk about old times. Enjoy a cup of fresh cider and take home a pumpkin.

Take in the beauty of over 500 hybridized daylilies while learning about the hybridization process at Dorsets 'N Daylilies. Each guest can take the beauty with them as they will each receive a dug and bagged lily. The best time to visit is June-August.

Learn about raising Large Black Heritage hogs, Katadhin sheep, and turkeys as well as growing herbs, hops and more at Bush Valley Farm.

Sample award-winning wines and cheese at the picturesque Terra Cotta Vineyards set in Ohio’s beautiful hill country.

Stroll through Mission Oaks Garden, a continually evolving garden in an older residential section of Zanesville. The large perennial garden and a conifer garden are included on approximately 10 acres. Guests can also take advantage of workshops of various themes including Window Sill Gardens, Kokedamas Hanging Gardens, Creative Containers, Fairy Gardens, Holiday Centerpieces and more.

Relax and enjoy the scenery and the soothing sounds of the paddlewheel as you take a Dinner Cruise aboard the Lorena Sternwheeler.

Day Two

Discover The Wilds, one of the largest and most innovative conservation centers in the world, and one of Ohio’s most unique destinations. Take a Safari Tour to view rhinos, giraffes, antelope, cheetahs and more, living in mixed-species groups and roaming expansive natural habitats.

After the tour, Enjoy lunch in a panoramic dining environment from one of the highest points in Muskingum County at the Overlook Café.

Depart for a safe trip home.
