Morning
Take a guided safari tour at the Wilds. Situated on 9,154 acres of beautifully reclaimed surface-mined land, the Wilds is a conservation, education and research facility dedicated to the preservation of endangered wildlife. More than 23 different species of animals from Africa, Asia and North America roam freely in large, protected open-range habitats at the Wilds. Cost for Safari Tour is $18 for adults, $17 for seniors, and $7 for children ages 4-12. (Overlook Cafe is available for dining.)
Afternoon
Explore the John and Annie Glenn Historic Site. Housed in John Glenn's boyhood home in New Concord, the museum honors the lives of the Glenn's and relates the story of 20th century America through the prism of their lives. Cost is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors, and $3 for children. Children under 6 are free.
Visit the National Road-Zane Grey Museum. This museum features exhibits on the making of the National Road, Zanesville native and western author Zane Grey, and antique art pottery. Cost is $7 for adults, $6 for seniors, $2 for students ages 6 and up. Children under 6 are free.
