HAPPY 60th Birthday Lorena Steernwheeler!!!!

The Lorena Sternwheeler is moored at Zane's Landing Park at the west end of Market Street in downtown Zanesville and offers excursions on the Muskingum River.  She can carry 90 passengers and is 104 feet long, 17 feet wide.  The hull is 68.5 feet and draws 2.5 feet of water.  The Lorena weighs over 59 tons and is available for dinner cruises, birthday parties, anniversaries, lunch cruises, twilight cruises,  and charters. 

This Muskingum County treasure travels up the Historic Muskingum River Water Trail and offers a relaxed and pleasant ride through wide waters, passing scenic woodlands just the way our ancestors did. She has carried governors, Miss Americas, Anita Bryant, Pat Boone, and the Imperials.  Newspapers throughout the world write about the Lorena and radio and TV coverage is extensive.  Worldwide coverage came when the Lorena survived the "Blizzard of '78."  The riverboat was within a quarter-inch of capsizing.  

The following is the 2009 Schedule.

Dinner Cruises are $30 per person and include dinner and music.  Please call today to make your reservations – dinner cruises are very popular and book quickly. Dinner Cruises are from 6:00 - 8:00 PM and are scheduled for  June 17,June 26, July 8, July 18, July 31, August 5, August 15, August 19, August 29, September 5, September 11, and September 19. Please note all cruises are subject to weather conditions. Reservations are a must.

Lunch cruises are $15 per person with groups of fifteen or more and includes the ride and box lunch. Public lunch cruises are scheduled ffrom Noon to 1:00 PM and are the following dates:  June 17, June 26, July 8, July 22, August 15, August 21, and September 11. Or call to schedule a date that is convenient for your group. Reservations are a must.

Twilight Cruises are back by popular demand and are scheduled from 8:30 - 9:30 PM - a great way to enjoy a lovely evening on the Muskingum River. Cruises are $8.00 per adult, $7.00 per senior and $4.00 for children 2 – 12.  Feel free to bring refreshments aboard for the Twilight Cruise. Twilight cruises are scheduled for June 27, July 22, August 1,  August 8 and August 21. Reservations are not necessary.  Please call ahead for weather conditions.

Public Rides are $8.00 per adult, $7.00 per senior and $4.00 for children 2-12. Public rides are scheduled for 2:00 - 3:00 PM and 3:30 - 4:30 PM on the following dates:June 6, June 17, FATHER's Day special June 21 - Father's ride for 1/2 price, June 26; 60th Birthday Celebration - June 28 - over 60 ride 1/2 price today only 12:30 cruise and 2 and 3:30 cruise, July 4, July 8, July 12, Taste of Zanesville - July 15, July 22, July 31, August 5, August 9, August 15, August 19, August 21, August 29, August 30, September 5, September 19. 

The Fall Foliage public rides in October are from 2:00 - 3:00 only and are October 3, October 4, and October 10 is the last public ride of the season.

The 60th Birthday Celebration will take place on June 28th and rides will be at 12:30, 2:00 and 3:30.  People over 60 will ride for 1/2 price today only.  There will be a celebratioin ceremony complete with cake.

Charter rides are $200.00 per hour and Dockside Charters are $150.00 per hour and both must be scheduled in advance.

Directions

I-70 East to Zanesville, Ohio

Take Exit #154 Fifth Street (one-way south). Go to second light and turn right onto Market Street. Follow Market Street three blocks, cross railroad tracks and curve right to enter Zane’s Landing Park.

I-70 West to Zanesville, Ohio

Take Exit #155 (Underwood Street). Turn left onto Underwood Street, pass through two lights and turn right at third light onto Market Street. Follow Market Street six blocks, cross railroad tracks and curve right to enter Zane’s Landing Park.
