Muskingum County Chapter of Ohio Genealogical Society

The MCCOGS owns a collection of genealogical research materials housed at the John McIntire Library, 220 North Fifth Street.  Genealogical information is focused on Muskingum County however, some data is available for surrounding counties and states.

An ancestor chart file, family histories, school year books, church records, cemetery records, birth and death records and marriage records are among the many materials available. MCCOGS maintains an obituary file primarily for Muskingum County starting with the late 1960's.  It contains over 60,000 obituaries.

MCCOGS members are actively involved in abstracting and publishing the various written records and cemetery inscriptions from Muskingum County.  A list of current publications is available with a convenient order blank upon request.
